Hello,
After completing my Bachelors in Biology from Exeter University in 1999, I started by teaching biology before later gaining experience in both Pharmaceutical sales, marketing and Private Banking. Whilst working for HBOS I completed 3 Financial Planning Certificates for the Chartered Institute of Insurers.
One of my clients at that time was managing the construction of a project called Grosvenor Waterside, a large regeneration scheme in Chelsea, London. I often took more interest in his work than putting his property into tax vehicles, so when he later started a new firm Providence Developments, I went to work with them in St. John's Wood.
A few years later after progressing from Construction Manager to Development Manager with Providence, the financial crisis had arrived and London wasn't looking so promising so I moved to the Middle East, where I spent three years in Dubai working initially with a large scale property developer and then subsequently with 2 interior contractors.
I then moved to spend 4 further years more recently in Doha, Qatar where Imanaged an Interior Design and Build company called Interspace, owned by a British construction conglomerate, Interserve plc.
I am now exploring setting up a business in Qatar finding ways and new technologies that help businesses connect with the academic community and individuals with science to create more sustainable spaces.
It might seem like a strange transition from Biology to Construction but it's been an interesting journey so far and I believe nature certainly has a lot to teach us!
