When it comes to my writing, I am an engineer. Setting up a framework of ideas and organizing my thoughts is the first thing I do with a writing assignment like an engineer does with a project. I try to delve into every point and detail possible (sometimes a little too excessively) in order to get the full meaning of my point across. I also try to make my writing my own in terms of me implementing my own personal opinions and thoughts, sometimes when opinions should not be heard. I test out several ideas before deciding on one idea to mold into a finished product, similar to the way an engineer tests out several prototypes before deciding on which one works the best. I try to use the most extensive vocabulary in my writing when possible. An engineer would want to use the best materials possible in his finished project. I tend to stick to and rely on a plan or design to guide me through a piece of writing, the same way an engineer relies on his design for a project.
