Nichole Hamilton

Nichole Ellen Hamilton is a senior at California State University, Long Beach, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism & Mass Communications with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in marketing. Graduating in May 2013, Nichole is a 2011 and 2012 LAGRANT Foundation Scholarship Recipient and made the Dean’s Honors List throughout her tenure at CSULB.

Nichole currently works for KABC-TV as a Freelance Online Entertaiment Producer for the station’s website, OnTheRedCarpet.com. She is responsible for producing content, managing numerous social media platforms and editing videos and images. Prior to her work with ABC, she worked as a server and bartender at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, where she honed in on her customer service skills.

Having interned since she was a freshman in 2008, Nichole also wrote for The Downey Patriot city newspaper. She produced over 40 stories in a variety of different beats, specializing in writing for student life and local events. She also served as a public relations intern at Lagrant Communications in Los Angeles for three months, where she composed numerous press materials, conducted outreach and engaged in a thorough ethnic media analysis.

Nichole served as secretary of her school's journalism organization, The Society of Professional Journalists, in 2011. She’s also an active member of her school's chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, having contributed to the monthly newsletter as well as volunteered at events. She has also been fortunate enough to receive the LAGRANT Foundation Scholarship in both 2011 and 2012.

After attaining her undergraduate degree, Nichole hopes to eventually attend graduate school to earn her MBA in marketing. She has a striking interest in brand marketing, non-profit work and public relations in general.
