I am a registered adult nurse who holds a number of academic qualifications including a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Public Administration and Health Studies; a Master of Science degree in Social Research Methods and Health Studies; a Master of Science degree in Nursing Research and Practice Development; and Diplomas in Business Administration (Marketing) and in Higher Education (Nursing).

I am passionate about authentically and strategically leading the provision of high quality patient care for all and supporting staff to develop professionally and progress in their healthcare careers.

I am currently the Regional Head of Nursing and Midwifery at Health Education England in London. In this role, I work closely with partners including healthcare providers and higher education institutions across London to educate, develop and sustain a world class nursing and midwifery workforce that is fit for the 21st century and beyond.

I was recently awarded a honorary visiting professorship at City, University of London. I am also a poet, digital broadcaster, motivational speaker, entrepreneur and Editorial Advisor of the Royal College of Nursing Institute’s Nursing Management Journal.

I am immensely proud of my maroon heritage and launched my Maroon Mindset podcast in 2019 and it was named as one of the best 20 UK motivational podcasts in 2021 as well as one of the best 15 UK nursing podcasts to listen in 2022.

I was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts in 2019 in recognition of my contribution to nursing as well as my achievements in championing the benefits of diversity and inspiring others to achieve their goals using a range of mediums.

My interests range from enjoying music to writing in a range of formats and medium. I am also interested in promoting the arts, entrepreneurship, and positive living.
