Somehow, the art of photographic expression found me...
It was in the darkroom that I first feel in love with the photographic process and alchemy. As my first image appeared from total whiteness in the developing bath, I knew I had found my passion. It was a pivotal moment of excitement and serenity for me.
My true love of photography lies in film and alternative printing processes that began before the 1900s. For me, it's about getting my hands wet {literally} and working with the elements to create beautiful magic.
Over the years, I have realized the reality of being an artist- expensive materials and few sales. I started a portrait business in the Reno/Tahoe area in 2007 to supplement my need to create fine art. In the beginning it was about making a living off of what I love to do {sharing what I see through a viewfinder} and funneling any excess into materials for creating artwork. I have found that I really love working with people and creating images that will be cherished for a lifetime. It has allowed me to share my unique vision with people in a very personal way. I am abundant and grateful!
