Nick Matney

I am a mechatronics engineer by education though I have worn various hats within manufacturing, including manufacturing engineer, industrial engineer, project manager, controls engineer, and machine designer. Since late 2020, I've been a full-time caregiver to my daughter while simultaneously managing a custom furniture business from my garage. As of 2022, I've re-entered the engineering field as a part-time automation consultant/machine designer under my own brand.

I've honed my expertise in improving manufacturing quality, profitability, and efficiency across diverse industries (medical device manufacturing, tier-1 automotive). My knowledge has led to labor and material savings projects in excess of $1 million. Additionally, my automation solutions have led to throughput increases of 10-20% at end-of-line and cycle time reductions of 18% through integrated material handling. I have a proven ability to adapt quickly from project management to hands on integration, and experience with designing for manufacturability and following ISO 9000 and ISO 13485 quality standards.

In addition to my manufacturing engineering disciplines, I possess strong people skills, including personnel management, team collaboration, and effective digital and in-person communication.
