Nick Prokesch
I am a Professional Writing major with a strong background in Information Technology and Technical Support. I believe that the most useful skill set to have in the technology fields includes knowledge of communication, grammar, and syntax. A good writer and proofreader knows how and where to spot problems; one who can detect syntax inferentially can recognize patterns, identify problems, and work to create solutions without intensive training. Such skills are crucial to the IT support field. With a strong background in English, grammar, and writing, in conjunction with my fluent knowledge and understanding of computers and technology, I regard myself as a powerful asset to any workplace. In addition to standard Windows and Linux configurations, I am well versed in Apple products, specifically solutions and troubleshooting related to Mac OS X 10.5 through 10.7, Mac OS X Server, iOS, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Airport Extreme, Time Capsule, Airport Express, and peripherals/accessories.
I am perpetually interested in find the most productive methods of accomplishing common workflows and tasks. My goal is to work within a company that either deploys Apple products or plans to in the future and is very interested in taking advantage of the innovative technology features available to the platform. I also aspire to work with creative consulting in developing innovative solutions to problems, as well as developing unique and productive workflows for ideas. I hope to continue to hone my skills in the emerging technology and support fields within the industry, as well as to thrive within a positive and socially interactive workplace.
