Handcrafted and Limited edition Furniture

Nick Randall Furniture is proudly Tasmanian. My inspiration comes from the beauty of our natural environment and particularly Tasmania’s maritime heritage. It is a privilege of being able to reflect this inspiration in my pieces through the use of top quality native Tasmanian timbers.

My work covers all facets of design and manufacture from single one off objects to residential and commercial applications.

My work is handcrafted to the highest standards reflecting my desire to create pieces that continue to deliver pleasure long into the future.

My studio is based in Hobart, Tasmania.

Residential project – beds and bedheads, bathroom vanities, etc.

Furniture free standing – limited edition & handcrafted, including board and meeting room tables, credenzas, dining tables, buffet units, consoles, etc.

Commercial – hotels, restaurants, galleries, public buildings art, offices, etc.

The evolution of my design philosophy has seen me reflecting on my youth and the things that I took great pleasure in; boats, sailing, and the beach. Combining the beauty of our natural timbers and the lines of classic sailing vessels, I have created a series of pieces using age old boat building techniques and modern technology that present beautiful curved shapes and an extremely tactile nature.

My current Masters of Fine Art thesis is exploring the use of lightweight timber veneers, again using boat building techniques, to create beautiful objects that are curvaceous, light weight and a sustainable use of our natural timber resources.

With 15 years of experience my learning and desire to create individual pieces of quality and beauty continues.
