"Imagination is more important than knowledge" - Einstein.
My postgraduate study in the field of cyber security is allowing me to explore, learn and apply the latest knowledge surrounding the critical threats facing information systems on a global scale. Ultimately, the skills I am acquiring will be transferable to cyber security firms who require effective and efficient ways of managing and being able to counter act external threats online within a safe and contained environment; with both strict compliance to investigation proceedings and Computer Law.
The modules currently being studied on the MSc programme include:
- Network Security
- Security Management
- Incident Management and Incident Reporting
- Computers and the Law
- MSc Project (TBC)
Software and programmes are now advancing at a rapid pace, and now given the rate at which we are moving forward in the information security sector, the possibilities at which we can now send, store, contain, receive and communicate data are now becoming increasingly endless.
This unquestionably comes as the ever growing risk of storing your sensitive data online is being placed under major threat due to potential exploits which hackers can take advantage of to obtain your information, which, in recent times, can involve large and small organisations being the victims of these unpredictable cyber attacks.
In my past time, and during undergraduate study, I decided to write about my interests within a blog available at www.nicksimmons.wordpress.com. Through this platform I am able to deliver exciting and trending issues and I hope to channel my interests and knowledge of cyber security to discuss and engage users who are concerned with their safety online.
I wish to maintain that my blog, which has now received over 30,000 views, has not profitted from any of the content published.
