I have been self-employed since the age of 20, having chosen the entrepreneurial pathway. It began at Adelaide University, during the second to last year of my Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Civil and Structural Engineering (Hons.) and a Bachelor of Economics degree. Since graduating, I now satisfy my creativity and ambition by investing my time and expertise in exciting projects I have helped to build into businesses from the ground up.
My most recent positions include the Founder and Managing Director of "Snapme Media Group" and Co-Founder of "Joey Crowd". I have also Co-Founded Video Crowd, which successfully graduated the 2016 Spark Program at the Adelaide Hub. Previously, I Emceed events as a Professional DJ, traded shares and have consulted for a local music producer.
The fear of humility and making mistakes was overcome very early on by playing in a band to large (and small) rowdy crowds. I’m convinced that this exposure to freedom of expression and the capacity to create something people enjoyed prepared me mentally for an entrepreneurial journey in later years. Like a performance, now I consider being agile an invaluable trait for leadership in business. Combining this with a unique perspective on problem solving, I see a world of opportunities to create a positive impact. When confronted by a tough decision I often get through it using the following principles:
• Execute. 90% done now is better than 100% done never
• Go with the decisions that make your life story worth reading.
• Hard choices are only hard because they are made of 2 or more options that are relatively equal to each other, so use this opportunity to shape your values and who you want to become.
