Nick Bouton is an award-winning user experience (UX) developer, full stack engineer, and online community architect based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. He has over 25 years of experience in web application design and development, ranging from consulting to building large-scale products.
Nick is currently Principal Consultant at Taunt Media, a full-stack web/mobile software consultancy, and is founder of ShelfKid, a books & reading platform oriented towards parents and kids/MG/YA. Nick has also been Principal Software Engineer + UI/UX Architect at Microsoft & Lead Frontend/UI Engineer for Klue.
Nick was previously the founder and developer behind Protagonize (now offline), a collaborative creative writing community home to over 30,000 authors. Nick is passionate about crafting and growing online communities, and helping to educate those who develop and manage them.
From 2011-16, Nick also founded and operated @VancouverCX, a Vancouver, BC based community management meetup group. He's also an active member of several other professional associations in the area, and is available for speaking engagements and on-site consultations.
