Nicholas Noel

My name is Nicholas noel. I am 15 years old. i was born on February 9, 1996 in the Bronx. I attend East New York Transit Tech High School in East New York, Brooklyn. I am really looking forward to getting a career with MTA New York City Transit as a Road Car Inspector. When I was growing up, I told my mom I want to work for MTA New York City Transit as an electrical engineer repairing subway cars. When I was a baby, I always watched the redbirds on the 5 train. When I was born, my right foot was a club foot. During my lifetime, I had to wear a brace on my right foot. I also went downtown to NYU Hospital for Joint Disease to get surgery on my foot for over 5 years. I always traveled there by ambulette service with my mother or aunt. I also went down to Arimed to get a brace on my foot. My last 2 surgery I had in NYU Hospital for Joint Disease was in July and August 2002. When my mother had to take me to the hospital, my aunt or my cousin's father would have to carry me down the steps to put me in my wheelchair. When the ambulette arrives, the driver opens the back door and pulls down the wheelchair ramp to wheel me up into the van so I don't move around too much. On my way back from the hospital, my mother would ask the ambulette driver to bring me up the stairs into my apartment in the bedroom because there was no elevator in my apartment. I was always in pain wearing the cast on my right foot. In August 2002, there was a shoe placed on my right foot so I can walk around the house a lot and in the street a bit. I also had to take my time walking down the steps leaving my house. And I went back to NYU Hospital for Joint Disease after my surgery was in September 2002 when the cast came off my foot. I was given a month off from school after my surgery in 2002. I got a teacher who came to my house and my teacher gave my home teacher homework assignments and I got it done everyday until November 2002. And, the last time I went to NYU Hospital for Joint Disease was in February 2008. There were some things I accomplished in my life. I won the Poetry Slam in MS 180 in May 2009 in 7th grade. I also made the Honor Roll for the 1st Marking Period in 7th grade. I also got 4 awards from my fifth grade graduation from PS 121. I also made my confirmation in Holy Rosary Church in May 2009.
