Nicki Ehrlich
Writer in Monterey, California
Nicki writes fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Her non-fiction has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers including 48° North, Nor’westing, and Women’s Work. She had boating columns in The Peninsula Gateway and The Bremerton Sun, when living in the Pacific Northwest. She also wrote music reviews for Victory Review. She produced writing and songwriting workshops in Washington state and B.C. Canada. She holds a B.A. in Philosophy/English, a diploma in Computer Programming, and a Coast Guard Captain’s License. In 2021 she earned a Certificate in Creative Writing from Monterey Peninsula College. Recently, her short fiction and memoir have been published in Scheherazade, the literary magazine of MPC. She won the 2021 Ray Fabrizio Memorial Award for Creative Writing. Currently, she is working on two novels; an historic literary western, and a mystery/romance. She has also sent a handful of short stories out into the contest/publishing world—they haven’t called home yet, but she’s optimistic.
