Nick Nabavian

A family man, volunteer, and in-house gemologist, Nick Nabavian has accumulated a wealth of education in a variety of areas. He holds a BA in Economics from The State University of New York at Stony Brook and graduated as a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America Inc., where he earned certifications in jewelry sales, retail jewelry, and diamond and color-stone identification. Nick Nabavian also completed extensive training in fighting fires and in chauffeuring engines, ambulances, heavy rescue trucks, and aerial ladders.

A volunteer firefighter for the Vigilant Fire Department in Great Neck, New York for nearly 15 years, Nick Nabavian acted as Financial Secretary for the department for two years and earned election to the Board of Trustees, where he served for five years. In other service, he dealt with zoning issues as a member of the Village of Great Neck Board of Appeals for several years and became a Captain on the security team at Young Mashadi Jewish Center in Great Neck, where he volunteered more than 400 hours in 2011 and raised thousands of dollars for the temple. In addition, Mr. Nabavian made the ultimate donation by joining the Gift of Life foundation and donating bone marrow to try to save the life of an anonymous individual with lymphoma.

A Graduate Gemologist since 1983, Nick Nabavian directs all financial, human resources, and management matters as President and Chief Financial Officer of Nikia Jewelry, headquartered in Great Neck. The accessory business does wholesale and retail business, selling necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, and handbags ranging in price from under $150 to $1,200 or more. The selection includes designer jewelry by Alexis Bittar, Miguel Ases, Morra Designs, L.K. Jewelry, Patricia Locke, and Lee Angel; and Handbags by MZ Wallace, Lockheart, Rebecca Minkoff, and Linea Pelle.
