Nick Nudell

In addition to having paramedic qualifications with an undergraduate degree focused on information systems management, I am one of, if not the only, public safety professional with a Masters of Computer Information Systems in Information Security.

You will find me to have the mindset of an ambitious and tenacious entrepreneur. My experience spans more than 20 years working in the private technology public safety industries as well as for government agencies. My skillset includes being an author, presenter, and technologies engineer.

My experience demonstrates that I have a broad based perspective, with sharp analytical and problem solving skills, big picture thinking, client relationship skills, and an encyclopedic knowledge of technical and clinical issues across large and complex initiatives. Through technology and innovation, I have designed solutions addressing clinical, service, and quality gaps in healthcare, public health, public safety, and public policy.

I have authored two whitepapers on the integration of data and technology that described applications of technology years before commercialization. While working for the San Francisco Department of Public Health, I even designed a first of its kind mini-comm kit to be deployed during disasters to enable first responders to conduct patient tracking that became the foundation for the patient tracking systems in use today.

I currently serve as a public safety liaison to a SAE technical standards committee and have been appointed by the Secretary of Transportation to represent data managers to its National EMS Advisory Council. Noteworthy also is my role as the Principal Investigator for a NHTSA funded research project on the suitability of EMS data to be used for performance measures.

All my experiences have enabled me hone my skills for tackling difficult challenges with sound research and strategy even while only having incomplete data or information to work with – in politically diverse environments.
