What started as a convenient occupation of my leisure time and a solution to my ever-present issue of overthinking has turned into a very special quest bestowed upon me. “What is this God-given, oh-so-important mission?” you might be asking. It is to watch every worthwhile TV show ever made (the worthiness of the show is chosen by me, with the helpful suggestions from IMDb). So far I have watched over 130 shows, but this is only the very beginning. I have infinitely more left, and yet I have already learned so much from what I’ve seen thus far. Many of my values and beliefs have been produced or changed based off television shows. White Collar and 30 Rock taught me to strive to be as attractive as I can be. Shows like "How I Met Your Mother,""Sense8," and "Castle" kindled my love of romance; however shows such as "Mad Men" and "Bojack Horseman" kept me from ever believing in the true sanctity of marriage or happily ever afters. I can always thank "Seinfeld," "That 70s Show," and "Friends" for my dream of having an extremely intimate group of friends to become a whole new family. My desire to be badass has only increased due to the likes of "Sons of Anarchy" and "Peaky Blinders." What little I know about politics can be attributed to shows such as "House of Cards," "The Wire," and "Veep." Perhaps most of all, television has broadened my horizons to the cultures and peoples of America, history, and the whole world. Although I don’t know what treasures lie at the end of my heavenly quest, I do know that it has cultivated a passion for creation and entertainment in me that I have no choice but to pursue.
