Nick Pedicano

My name is Nick Pedicano, I'm from Arlington, Virginia, and every summer I am always, and I mean always at the pool. I have two jobs in the summer, I'm a swim coach on our summer league swim team, and also a manager at the pool, not to mention swimming on the team myself and going there to play volleyball in my free time. Both these jobs require me to be at the pool for a minimum 3 hours for coaching, and 6 for managing, with a little break in between. Ive spent more 12 hour days there than I can count, usually getting paid for only part of my time there, as I also love being there with my friends. The community I have built there is as close to a family as it can get, spending so much time with these people, seeing the kids I give lessons to go on to be successful in the pool and love it as much as I did when i was their age. Since I was 7 years old, every summer I have ever had has revolved around the pool, and now with the last few even having me employed there, I couldn't imagine it being any other way. Growing up with friends 2, 3, or even 4 years older than me and having older role models has shaped me into the role model that I try to be for those younger than me, now that I am the oldest on a team that ranges from 7-18 year olds.
