Nick RD Fowke

I graduated from Bournemouth University in 2008 with a BSc (Hons) in Product Design. My placement year was spent at Avon Protection Systems designing respiratory devices for military use. After qualifying, I freelanced for several months in graphic design, creating promotional material for events management companies.

In 2009 I began working as a product designer at Neptune Europe Ltd. For two years I designed and developed new furniture ranges, taking a leading role on projects and coordinating input from marketing, accounts and shipping teams. My greatest achievement at Neptune was the award-winning Larsson bedroom range which is now stocked nationally by John Lewis. In addition to being the sole designer on the Larsson project, liaison between the two companies was my responsibility.

For the last year I have worked at Innovate Product Design in Salisbury. I decided to broaden my design experience, focussing on more diverse products to give me further scope for creativity. My current post has enabled me to hone and improve my sketching and rendering skills to a high standard in various software packages. I have had the opportunity to design many exciting and inventive products independently while functioning well as part of the Innovate team and actively engaging with clients.
