I have 28 years experience in teaching across all levels. I can offer friendly and supportive tuition and a highly structured and personalised service. I am passionate about and dedicated to my work as a musician and educator.
The learning outcomes will include a weekly personal session plan, study or practice routine as well as extended listening projects and research. Home visits are available. This is a bespoke service which aims to suit the potential of the student, and so ensuring a wholly student based educational experience.
The ethos of the sessions is learning through well-designed activity, creativity and in the enjoyment of personal achievement. I believe that music should develop valuable skills, deepen knowledge and secure understanding whilst allowing the student to plan and pursue personal goals. Music should be challenging but it should also be life enhancing, deeply rewarding and allow the student to attain skills that are invaluable in life.
I studied at Huddersfield University, King’s College London, The Royal College of Music and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and nave a First-Class Honours Degree, a Master’s Degree and a Doctorate in Music.
