Nick Schiner
Educator, Teacher, and Project Manager in Baltimore, Maryland
Nick Schiner is the team leader for the Baltimore County Public Schools’ Office of Innovative Learning Projects. Nick has held a variety of positions with BCPS, including time as a fourth and fifth grade teacher as well as a technology integration teacher and liaison to the Department of Instructional Technology. During his time in the classroom setting, Nick implemented a series of initiatives including BYOD, game and project based learning, and a focus on the establishment of a student-centered classroom. In his current position, he is responsible for working directly with BCPS curriculum departments and schools to shift to student-centered learning experiences that harness the power of innovative teaching practices and technologies. In addition to those responsibilities, Nick also facilitates professional development and provides support for a wide range of topics and tools, including the new BCPSOne system.
Nick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Towson University and a Master’s of Science in Education – Technology for Educators from Johns Hopkins University. In addition to his formal education, Nick also maintains an active presence on Twitter where he connects with peers around the world to grow professionally.
