Nick Cioni
Current role - Sales manager for Queensland Outbound Business Sales.
Hi all, My name is Nick I am 27 years old and currently living in Brisbane. I was born and raised on the Gold Coast so I love the beach, I moved to Brisbane at the age of 15 to finish school. At the age of 17 I joined the Army and was I for 4 years (probably the best thing I have ever done) it taught the value of camaraderie and working as a team. After my time in the forces I was unsure as to what to do with my life, a very good friend of mine got me a job working for 3 mobile where I found myself to be fairly good at selling (probably because I wont take no for an answer lol). I was given a great opportunity to help develop a new business team for Vodafone in Toowong, and since then we have gone from a team of 10 to a team of 80. my biggest motto is "don't work hard work smart" this has helped over the years. I am currently 1 of the Sales Managers for the Business Outbound team based in Brisbane. I have been with the company for around 4 years and started my time in Outbound Upgrades and slowly moved my way into business sales.
What do I love about my role ?
Because my team is relatively new I still have the opportunity to try new things to better develop the my crew and give better result for the Company. Being in management position for Vodafone it gives me a great opportunity to help train and coach new staff to better hone their skills on the phones but also be there as a friend when they need someone to talk to.
Having this connection with my staff develops trust, puts a great vibe in the team and turns into a family.
How have a grown ?
Becoming a manager has taught me a lot, I think the most important thing that i have come to realize would be to trust your manager , sometime when you think a idea is a bad one just remember they are doing for a reason and they have your best interests at heart.
Most amazing thing I have ever done.
I had to think long and hard about this one and i cant put my finger on it, needless to say my time in the army was very eventful did a lot of traveling and got to do some really cool stuff.
