PROFILE
Nick Wallace serves as director for BKD's Higher Education Services Group. With 34-plus years of experience, Nick leads a team who provide clients in the higher education industry with a variety of accounting, tax and consulting services.Prior to joining BKD, Nick oversaw the higher education practice at a national CPA firm which served more than 75 colleges, universities and graduate schools throughout the U.S. Additionally, he was the finance director for planned gifts at a private university in Southern California.Nick has led numerous higher education board and professional training sessions on such topics as turnaround/restructuring, audit/ finance committee performance, financial reporting and communication, compliance and risk management. He is a contributing author to industry publications and a frequent speaker at national conferences for a variety of trade associations including the Council of Independent Colleges, Council of Christian Colleges and Universities, National Association of College and University Business Officers, Association of Theological Schools, Association of Biblical Higher Education and Association of Business Administrators of Christian Colleges.
EDUCATION
Nick graduated from California State University at Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business with a concentration in accounting.
ASSOCIATIONS AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Nick is a member of the board of trustees for Taylor University where he serves on the executive committee, audit committee and business affairs committee (chairman). Additionally, he serves on the advisory council for the Cedarville University Department of Business and is a board advisor to Significant Systems, Inc. Nick is a past member of the Commission on Accreditation for the Association of Biblical Higher Education and the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) standards committee. He is a certified coach for Special Olympics.
