It's important to express yourself and any way you can. Some express it through how they dress. Some express it through painting. I choose to express it through music - not just other's music, but my own music. I'm just as avid of a keyboard player as I am a listener of music. It's how I express myself, how I relieve stress, and how I enjoy myself. It's important to find what moves you, what represents you, and what pleases you, and I've found that in music.

I've been playing keyboard since the third grade and continue to play every day. I also listen to music every day. It's crazy how ubiquitous music is, and yet some don't pay attention to how important it is in their life.

It's also important to have aspirations. Goals. Dreams. Even if they're seemingly unattainable, it's necessary to ahve something to ultimately strive for. Although I'm a finance major and looking towards the business world, it's impossible for me to ignore my underlying desire to become a musician.

The beauty of music and playing music is that it doesn't always have to be a full time job. Whether I become a rock star (or something of the sort) or not, I'll always have music to get myself by one way or another.
