Nicolas Greenstone – College of Europe
Nicolas Greenstone was born in 1944 and was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to spend his educational years studying at some of the most renowned establishments in Europe. When Nicolas Greenstone arrived at the College of Europe in Bruges in 1967, he had already spent a successful spell at St Paul's School in the United Kingdom. At the age of 18 and upon his departure from St Paul's School, Nicolas Greenstone spent a year working at a boarding school in the south west of France, gaining valuable experience whilst at the same time increasing his fluency in the French language, before returning to the United Kingdom to begin his post-secondary education at the historical and world-famous Oxford University. Nicolas Greenstone graduated from Oxford University, having attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jurisprudence, the theory of law, in 1967 and it was at this time that Nicolas Greenstone decided to enrol on a one year diploma at the College of Europe, studying European Economic Community Law.
The College of Europe also has establishments in a number of other locations in Belgium and Europe. Nicolas Greenstone studied at the College of Europe in Bruges in Belgium, but the college also has centres of learning in a number of other locations such as Verversdijk, Garenmarke and Dijver, together with a relatively recently opened campus in Warsaw, Poland, which was opened as recently as 1993. The College of Europe was officially established and opened in 1949 with the backing of a number of significant historical figures such as Winston Churchill, who were collectively known as the founding fathers of the EU. The College of Europe is an extremely exclusive and prestigious learning institute, and was set up with the intention of developing future leaders and high ranking individuals from countries across Europe.
Nicolas Greenstone spent a successful year at the college studying European Economic Community Law and the experience and knowledge gained from studying at such an impressive establishment such as the College of Europe enhanced his prospects within his chosen legal career. Nicolas Greenstone had the benefit of studying at two of the best learning institutes in Europe, namely Oxford University and the College of Europe respectively, both of which have played significant roles in the success
