Ottawa, Ontario

My path to international business, and ultimately Algonquin college, was inspired by my desire to travel. Some years ago I found myself living respectably with my own apartmment and furnishings. They were nice, but I was not satisfied. I craved adventure and excitement! I wanted to stir my passions! I wanted to travel.

I spent the next year quietly saving money and ridding myself of many things. (I could not take a living room set on the road) Then, with but two weeks notice to my job and friends, I set out to Toronto with no clear goals or purpose, other than te be in Vancouver for the olympics.

I have heard it said that travel is only enjoyable in retrospect. I must have been doing it wrong, for I enjoyed it greatly. It got me to thinking that I would enjoy a job where I am allowed to travel. So, when I returned to Ottawa, and ended my driftings, again with no clear goals or purpose, I decided to apply my energies to the pursuit of a degree in international business, in the hopes that one day I might perhaps get to work doing what I love.
