Nicolas Shimonek

Nicolas Shimonek is a management major with a concentration in entrepreneurship at The Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University.

Nicolas is from the small town of Mildred, Texas and is a first generation college student who is ready to embark on this journey and see what he can accomplish through his hard work and dedication. At a young age, Nicolas’ father embedded a strong work ethic and the fact that you simply “get out what you put in”. Nicolas also owes his strong character to his older brother, Jake. Throughout high school, Nicolas was known as “Jake’s younger brother.” Always being compared to his older brother, Nicolas acquired a motivation to be his best at everything he did in order to overcome these comparisons. As a result of his father’s teachings and comparisons to his brother, Nicolas’ hard work and dedication paid off when he earned a scholarship to play football at the University of Iowa, where he later transferred to Texas Tech University to play football as well. All in all, Nicolas is a highly motivated individual with a hunger for success and a work ethic second to none.
