Nicole L. Bergen

My life so far has been a journey, a journey of self-discovery, growth, and knowledge full of various bumps in the road and challenges. Thankfully, this road has lead me to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I am a junior studying Communication with a minor in English. My college experience has been nothing but a dream so far and I can't believe it is more than halfway over. My involvement in my department, my sorority Sigma Kappa, and other organizations has made the time pass even faster than I intended. Moving forward into the future my ultimate goal is to improve both internal and external communications in a company. My key interest lies in Human Resources or Public Relations but my dream job would be a combination of the two. Ultimately, if I can help a company hire the best employees, improve and maintain their reputation, and make a noticeable difference in people's lives I would say that my professional goals have been met. My academic and personal experiences have prepared me for this kind of position because of the valuable leadership, team problem-solving and critical writing skills that I have obtained through out my time in college. I am always looking for an opportunity to better myself and can't wait to see what the future holds for me.
