Dash The Trash was started when a strange dream, an insipring documentary, and curiosity came together in my life. My inescapable interest in the infrastructure of different countries and societies and its relation to energy sources, waste disposal, etc. lead me to try and figure out first hand why the United States is so far behind other countries in green development. Starting on July 1st, 2013, I will pledge to live a zero-waste, consumer free year. I will be responsible for all waste I generate and I will only buy things that I absolutely need. Here I will record the ups and downs of my journey and hopefully come closer to understanding the areas of our culture and societal structure that prevent us from moving toward a zero-waste society.
