Nicole Hemmann

Hello All! As a pre-service teacher, I am working towards learning all that I can to be the best teacher for my students now and my future students. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a Self-Directed Concentration in Psychology. Through my studies, I will receive a Lutheran Teacher's Diploma. In the future, I hope to continue my education by pursuing a Master's Degree in School Counselling.

Besides attending classes, I am working at a child development center. I have been teaching K-1 students afterschool since my freshmen year of college. This opportunity has afforded me the chance of learning and teaching alongside great teachers who have many years of experience with young children in the school setting. With my K-1 students, I am able to lead daily devotions, read storybooks every day, lead arts and crafts, develop Christ-like relationships, and impliment behavior management strategies. One of the greatest skills I have developed through my work is behavior management. Every day there is some new problem or situation in front of me that I am able to tackle with the skills I have begun to gather in my "Teacher Toolbox".
