Nicole Pennycook

I am a final year student at Southampton Solent University on the Music Promotion BA (Hons) course.

My career goals include working for a well-respected record label within the Music Industry or Promotions Company particularly within the Marketing and PR sectors. This was particularly enhanced by my involvement with my university's music festival, SMILEfest 2014, as part of the group in charge of the marketing and PR campaign for this year. My specific role in this project can be defined as Communications Officer. This included writing and editing press releases, sending these out to national and local press whilst also liaising with those organising the festival to ensure that event listings were kept to date. I was also largely responsible for the festival's Twitter page, including live tweeting events, gaining new followers and relaying announcements to our viewing public.

Alongside this, I enjoy other areas of the entertainment industry. Meeting new people, as friends or industry professionals, is important to me and to hear other opinions and points of views.
