When introducing yourself, it seems like standard procedure to open with something along the lines of, “hi, my name is [insert name here]”

Now, I’m not typically one for “standard procedures” of any sort. But, seeing as a persons name is a fundamental piece of information — especially when it comes to introductions — I suppose I’ll lead with something along those lines.

On that note: hi, I’m Nicole. If you’re reading this, I’d like to take a second to thank you for stopping by. In an ideal world, I would offer you a cup of tea as any good host would, but it’s very likely that I’m not in your current proximity and am therefore unable to do that. Maybe next time.

If you're curious to know a bit more about me, here are a few basics: I grew up just outside of Stratford (also known as "Bieber Town" but please avoid that referral at all costs). After spending the first few chapters of my life there, I moved to Toronto and then to Auckland, New Zealand.

As of now, I'm currently back in the land of the true north strong and free finishing my journalism degree at Ryerson.

I love words and I'm curious to see where they take me. Good places, I hope.

Possibilities motivate me. Ideas exhilarate me.
