Nicole Dauphinais
My name is Nicole Dauphinais. I'm a 20 year old student studying for my Music Business Bachelors degree at Full Sail University in Orlando, FL. Originally, I'm from a small town in Upstate New York that didn't have much to offer besides a venue known as Northern Lights, which was run by a production company called Step Up Presents. This became my second home, and was my first real introduction to the music industry as a whole.
I became extremely interested in joining Street Teams after that point. I became a member of the Equal Vision Street Team, an Albany based record label that some of my friends were interning with. They were not only a ten minute drive from my house, but also a very well known independent label within the rock industry. I also became very involved with Alternative Press Magazine, and would drive out to shows in surrounding cities to help promote for them.
After starting my degree at Full Sail in the summer of 2010, I started to become more and more involved with Victory Records, a Chicago based hardcore label. I was on their street team for about two years before I actually met their head of marketing at an A Day To Remember show in New York. It was at this show that he offered me a position as a marketing intern starting in May of 2012. I took this oportunity and ran with it, heading to Chicago over the summer and working my hardest at one of the most successful independent record labels in the country.
My strengths in the industry are definitely in the marketing field. I'm currently working as a promoter for a tattoo studio in Orlando, and interning in the marketing department of a Chicago based magazine known as Highlight. I consider myself to be the strongest in street marketing techniques, but I can't wait to get my feet wet in other areas, such as publicity and A&R.
