Expertise

Executing her expertise in the field of sustainability, Nicole has engaged with several organizations. Most recent are NAACP Maryland State Conference Environmental & Climate Justice Committee (NAACP MSC-ECJ), World Wildlife Fund, Inc. (WWF), and U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Nicole currently works in an advisory capacity with NAACP MSC-ECJ and a municipality - the City of District Heights (MD).

Within the NAACP MSC-ECJ, Nicole spearheads multiple initiatives. Among these is a Legislative Education Night tailored for HBCU students. This event strives to introduce students to the fundamental aspects of impactful climate policy and enlighten them about career pathways within the climate policy realm. Additionally, there's a community gathering dedicated to assisting residents in reducing their energy expenses. Moreover, Nicole leads educational sessions designed to enhance the community's comprehension of prevailing policies, such as Climate Solutions NOW, Inflation Reduction Act, and Justice40, and their relevance to localized climate and environmental solutions.

At WWF and USGBC, Nicole led institutional procurement and facilities, emphasizing sustainable sourcing policies, ecological footprint calculation, and carbon reduction. She oversaw multi-million dollar LEED Platinum-rated spaces, managed energy-efficient systems, and handled LEED re-certification. Her project management has enriched her expertise in:
