Nicole Steel made the transition into residential real estate after an impressive career in international commercial real estate, with more than a decade of client and negotiation focused work.
Ms. Steel works with buyers and sellers in Southern Fairfield County, Connecticut, focusing on New Canaan and Darien, and in Manhattan's Upper East Side. She is licensed in both Connecticut with Barbara Cleary's Realty Guild and New York with Brown Harris Stevens, both affiliates of Christie's International Real Estate.
Ms. Steel still enjoys her involvement in commercial real estate activity and advisory, particularly development projects. She is a member of the New Canaan Board of Realtors, the Darien MLS and the Real Estate Board of New York.
Prior to joining Barbara Cleary's Realty Guild, she was Director of Cross-Border Investments and led the International Capital Markets at Newmark Knight Frank. Here, she originated over $2 billion in advisory work, leading a global team with the company's regional groups in London, Paris, Munich, Singapore, Manama and Sao Paulo. Spanning 6 continents and 165 offices, she traveled extensively, serving the needs of commercial global real estate investors and owners. Her advisory services included investment sales, purchasing and direct equity placement into real estate assets and portfolios.
Previously, Ms. Steel was with CB Richard Ellis where she was involved in over $5 billion in transactions, from acquisitions of various asset types to developing property marketing strategies and ground-up development projects.
Ms. Steel began her career as a publicist, where she created and managed corporate national and international media strategies working with executives of corporations. Her clients included AXA Financial, Diageo, RUSAL, Julius Baer Bank, Russell Indexes, Steve Madden, Duane Reade and Exclusive Resorts. She has also held positions at Bessemer Venture Partners and UBS.
Ms. Steel is passionate about community service and is active with several non-profit organizations. She serves on the Board of A Global Friendship, an organization whose aim is to help develop poor communities in an effort to end global poverty. She is also a member of United Nations Women, Junior League and the Young Women's League of New Canaan.
She holds a B.S. in Finance from GMU in Virginia and studied International Relations in London.
