Nico van dongen

Nico van Dongen Bio.

Nico van Dongen served as academic leader and educator at the Academy of Art University and the Art Institute of California in San Francisco. Directing program-expansion, coached and supervised staff and managed curriculum development. Through his guidance and strong pedagogical approach, his students consistently received regional and national recognition.

Alongside his 20 year-long successful academic career, Nico consulted as a media-design and photography freelancer and mentor. He is the founder of Portfolio Pilots, offering career advancement coaching for creative professionals.

In May 0f 2011, Nico took on the role of Director of Training and executive team member, at the Stride Center.Nico serves on the Board on the Sharon Art Studio in San Francisco and sits on a judging panel for UCSF’s Art for Aids foundation. He holds a degree in photography from the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in the Hague, the Netherlands.
