Nienke Bulstra

The Netherlands

A bit about my background

• For my high school I moved from Maastricht to The Hague. In The Hague I could combine my education with my classical ballet training. After graduating high school I entered a special summer program at the Juilliard School for dance in New York. I got accepted in Amsterdam at the National ballet academy, but unfortunately my career focus had to change due to an injury.

• After one year at the Higher Hotel School in Maastricht I decided to switch to a study more specific to organizing events.

• After completing my bachelor and working for a year I decided to go to Orlando, Florida for 6 months to work at Walt Disney World and study at the University of Central Florida. I graduated and got master certificates in Hospitality Management.

* The passed 8 months I have been working for a tourism agency in Costa Rica. My main activities where; setting up travel plans, having meet and greets with the clients and keeping contact with the wholesellers in Germany, England and The Netherlands.

• I speak English, Dutch and basic German, French and Spanish.

• As a person I like to take initiative, I’m pro-active and a go-getter. I like to read, travel (I have been in Finland where I did an internship for 6 months, Florida where I worked and studied for 6 months and Costa Rica where I worked for 8 months) and dance. Furthermore I’m a real team player.

Social skills and competences
Team work: I worked in several project groups at school and in several teams during my previous jobs. Doing my own tasks, but having colleagues that give support when needed, has helped me to learn, grow and develop myself.

Organizational skills
I’m an organized person, observant, punctual and always make sure I have all my documents in order. I am good in seeing the whole picture and knowing which matters are urgent and which are not. "Having a place for everything and having everything in its place"

Communicative skills
During the passed years I have traveled a lot, which gave me the chance to experience different cultures and work with people with different backgrounds and believes. It helped me to improve my communication skills and made me able to adapt to each situation.
