Nika Offenbac
Nika Offenbac is a diverse film maker with a distinctive aesthetic. She spends her time between directing commercial projects, producing animation, and documentary film making.
Nika’s recent films projects include films for various social justice and advocacy organizations including Race Forward, The New York Legal Assistance Group and directing a short film for the 2014 “Not so Super” Superbowl campaign to raise awareness of human trafficking.
Small Small Thing, her feature about child rape in Liberia, premiered on Al Jazeera English in 2014, after winning multiple awards on the festival circuit, a short theatrical run in New York, digital distribution, and positive reviews in the New York Times, Indiewire and Huffington Post.
Her commercial credits include campaigns for global brands like Starwood, Craftsman, Maxim, Coach, Guess, Canon, Dior, Red Lobster, Microsoft Kinect and more. Broadcast credits include previous work for ABC, Sci-Fi Channel & USA Networks.
Nika began her career in 2004 by founding, the design studio C-TRL, with artist Dev Harlan. As CTRL, their award winning shorts and installations have screened at festivals and museums world wide including the Berlin Design Mai, Kunsthaus Graz in Austria, the Museum of Popular art in Rome and are included in the permanent collection of the SF Moma.
A long time lover of electronic music, she has been creating tour visuals since VJing required VHS decks. Over the years she has world with artists like Theivery Corporation, Tiesto & Skrillex and toured the US, Europe and Japan as a visual artist and performer.
Currently she is co-executive producing and directing a six part television documentary series about underground dance music for MTV.
