Niki Barrie

Niki has 30 years in the photography business as a writer, photo editor, text editor, publisher and agent. She has worked on staff for leading conservation magazines (Audubon, National Wildlife, Ducks Unlimited) and picture agency Corbis, Inc. Niki has contributed articles to photography and art magazines (Photo District News, Shutterbug, Wildlife Art News) and freelanced for Publicis Dialog advertising agency, AGPix, Vivozoom, Phototake and the National Wildlife Federation, among others. She is editor of the North American Nature Photography Association's (NANPA) publications Currents and Expressions and past editor-in-chief (1991-2011) of the American Society of Picture Professionals' (ASPP) The Picture Professional and NANPA's Ripples. Niki served on NANPA's Board of Directors for five years. She is a NANPA Fellow and recipient of the association's Russ Kinne Recognition Award; she will receive the Outstanding Service Award at the NANPA Summit in 2013. ASPP honored Niki with its only annual award in 2006, the Picture Professional of the Year Award. Niki's latest endeavor, her first children's adventure novel, is to be released at the end of 2012. She hopes that Clover and the Twins: The Search for the Cloverleaf Dogs will be the first in a series of novels for children 8-years-old and older.
