Hello! Niki Skye is my name. Ohsweken, Ontario is where I'm from. I am Wolf Clan and of the Cayuga Nation.

In my home community of Ohsweken, I am a Cayuga Language teacher at Emily C. General Elementary School. I have been working in education for 21 years.

My passion for the revitalization and preservation of our Hodinoso:ni languages, has inspired my lifelong learning of Cayuga language to help myself, my family, my school family, and my community.

Working within our Six Nations Education District schools for a number of years, I do see a need to improve the Ontario Native as a Second Language (NSL) document. With that in mind, I have a few goals set that I will consider as a work in progress for the next year:

*improve the current NSL curriculum content tailored specifically to teaching Cayuga Language

*design unit plans that promote and create more language proficiency in Cayuga speakers.
