Guess it starts on 3rd September 1969 when I was born!,I was born at St Lukes hospital Guildford Surrey I'm the eldest child in the family. When I was 5 we moved from Farncombe in Surrey to Harlow in Essex where I lived until I was 18 when we moved again to Rawtenstall in Lancashire.
I bummed around for a while having various jobs including silk screen printing until I had my first daughter in 1991 followed by daughter #2 in 1992,I then just spent my time trying to bring them up in a decent way. I went back to work shortly after passing my driving test in 1997 and then daughter #3 happened in December 1998 so back to bringing up children!.
Some time passed and I started going out again and soon met hubby,,he was into his motorbikes and so was I by this time so we made a great pair and had a lot of fun,,then the unthinkable happened and in august 2011 I had a very bad motorbike accident,,I severed my left leg at the knee smashing the bones in it apart at the same time,I was airlifted from the accident n don't remember much for the next few weeks. They managed to save my leg with much surgery and a lot of time in hospital.
After I came out I was at a bit of a loose end,,I mean what can someone do who has had their whole life turned on its head do? Well I got it into my head I wanted to photograph the northern lights! Not to bad you might think but at the time I didn't even have a camera!,I was talking to a friend about this ambition of mine and they were the answer to my prayers,,they very kindly turned up with my first camera a Canon EOS 350D and I fell in love,,here was something I could do from a wheelchair! Oh yeah I forgot to mention I'm now wheelchair bound for life,,they might have saved the leg but they couldn't make it work like a leg again so its just an ugly attachment now anyhowwwwww,,I soon was in my element taking loads of photos and started a page on facebook called Aurora-hunters uk and started learning how to read the data and getting all excited,,well the first few trips out were a wash out,,we went to a place called Malham Tarn in the dead of night n all we could see was fog!!.
Around this time I met my new partner in crime Ruth,,we started going out looking for the aurora and it wasn't long till we hit gold! From a hill top 4 miles from home we caught out first ever Aurora and boy did we squeal,,shortly after this I got a new camera as hubs had sold the last motorbike he had,,while I
