Nikki Umana-Tate
Mother, Nanny, and Small Business Owner in Melbourne, Australia
As a passionate mum, nanny and progressive leader, Nikki Umana-Tate's career path has certainly been full of twists and turns with innumerable lessons learnt and a relentless dedication to supporting parents, children and the broader community.
A single mum to an 8-year old boy, Nikki had started out as a private nanny to 3 children in 2010. She was soon solicited by more families and her responsibilities grew from 12 children by December 2012 to 45 children by December 2013, then 86 by December 2014.
With rising demands and family enquiries, Nikki started Naturally Nannies at the start of 2014. As a nanny agency, they specialise in pairing local families with local nannies within the Melbourne area. Naturally Nannies currently have over 40 nannies on board and they are always seeking extra special child care professionals to expand their team of naturally passionate, energetic and hard-working nannies.
Nikki is personally committed to hand selecting their nannies and babysitters from numerous applicants. Being a mum, Nikki strives to ensure that children are in the safe hands of a nanny who will provide a nourishing and positive environment to learn and grow in.
Seeking to foster continuous improvement, Naturally Nannies have several projects in the pipeline including professional development courses for nannies and child care staff by the beginning of next year and a membership program for parents providing useful strategies on areas such as behaviour guidance.
Giving back and modelling kindness and compassion plays an important part in Nikki's life and she is actively supporting Hands Across the Water, a charity that gives at-risk Thai children and their communities a helping hand.
Always keen on extending her professional network and to discuss about potential collaborations, Nikki can be contacted directly via her personal email address [email protected]
