Olá, I am Niklas, 33, PhD in Environment & Society from the University of Campinas, Brazil. I was a FAPESP fellow at the Environmental Policy Group at Wageningen University, hold an MA in Technology and Society (UTFPR) and a BA in East Asian Economics and Politics from Ruhr University.
My research is about environmental issues in the Global South, currently focussing on eco-compensation mechanisms in China. I have experience with international development policies, NGOs, waste management, and global food chains, among others.
I have been a volunteer at CEPAS/Caritas in Santiago, Panama, a student assistant at Stiftung Mercator's China team, a project manager for PanamaKreis e.V., Germany and an Executive Team member of the Young Ecosystem Services Specialists network (YESS).
