Nicky Adams

Onich, Scotland

Nicky discovered her love of hotels later in life at first studying Companion Animal Behaviour and Land Based Industries at College. During this time she volunteered with several small animal rescue charities as well as local farm work in the hopes of joining the SSPCA.

Over the course of her career Nicky has had a diverse and rich employment history giving her a unique insight into the overall Hospitality Industry, marketing and consumer attitudes. Never satisfied or able to sit still she has earned SQA Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in Hospitality Supervision & Leadership. City & Guilds awarded Certificate for Scottish Personal Licence & A Food Safety certificate awarded by Creative Solutions in conjunction with The Society of Food Hygiene & Technology. She is also currently undertaking online distance learning in Hospitality Manager, Marketing & Ecommerce.

Her first foray into the hospitality field was actually at the Onich Hotel as a Receptionist. After spending a 2 week vacation in the Highlands she decided on impulse to relocate. The Scottish Highlands is uniquely welcoming and is one of the most picturesque places in the world to work/visit.

The Onich Hotel & Lochside Gardens is a 3 Star Establishment. She was employed here in 2008 and has worked her way up from General Assistant to Assistant Hotel Manager. Duties here are varied and challenging but always fun. A real family run hotel where the friendliness of the staff eclipses all others. She spends her days assisting the Hotel Proprietor in all aspects of running the hotel.

In her spare time she reads every book she can get her hands on, spends far too much money catching up on the latest movies & buying DVD’s. She also chills out with her amazing rescue dog Skye enjoying the local scenery, hills and beaches.
