Many people can claim that one moment has changed their life, a moment that defined who they are or made them change from their old ways. In my case it was the 8 years I spent in Europe that strongly impacted my life and made me open my eyes and become a better person. Growing up so close to the American military overseas made me respect our soldiers and airmen to the highest level. I saw first-hand the sacrifices they gave in order to protect our great country.
I was able to see a different perspective of the entire world as I was submerged into the German culture from a young age. The lifestyle of a European contains values that are very different from what Americans aim for in life. I was allowed to interact first-hand with people from all-over the world, and see life from their perspective. This diversity resulted in me being the man I am today, being able to not see color, but being able to see one for their character. I loved the diversity of Europe and could not imagine life without being surrounded by such different peoples, partly why I am here at the University of Georgia.
