Video Games Business Development in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
My games industry career started in 2004 when I co-founded GameHorizon, a regional network for game developers in the North East of England.
GameHorizon existed to promote North East games companies and put them on the international gaming stage.
We attracted attendees and supporters from all over the UK and the global games industry to our flagship event The GameHorizon Conference.
GameHorizon sparked my passion for networking and creating meaningful connections in this incredible industry.
Since then, I’ve gone on to develop a career specialising in business development in video games. Some notable positions include:
- Head of Business Development at Tag Games, a mobile game developer based in Dundee, Scotland, that was acquired by mobile gaming giant Scopely. In my time at Tag Games we made games for some of the industry's biggest names including Rovio, Paradox, Ubisoft and Zynga.
- Business Development Director and Cofounder at Firestoke - a full service publisher with a shared vision of developer friendly publishing. I was part of the founding team in 2021, alongside Paul Farley and Omar Khalil. Together, we established the vision, goals and values of Firestoke and launched a brand new publisher of PC and Console games.
- Business Development Director at the mighty Sumo Digital. As part of the central team, my goal was to find great game development projects for Sumo's group of over 15 talented studios including the Sumo branded studios, Auroch Digital, Red Kite Games, The Chinese Room, Atomhawk, and Pixel Ant Games.
