With more than a decade of teaching experience, Nina Gribetz teaches at Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School. She started her career as a math teacher with Day Star School in Honduras, where she taught students in 7th through 11th grades, developed the math curriculum, and also managed a bilingual student population. Nina Gribetz then taught math at the Bronx School of Science Inquiry and Investigation through Teach For America for one year, and then continued for another three years as part of the school's staff. She taught seventh and eighth graders while also advising Teach for America corps members over summer training.
Nina Gribetz then taught fourth grade math at Achievement Preparatory Academy in Washington, D.C., helping students reach 90 percent proficiency on the 2010 DC-CAS. Since 2011, she has been with Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School, where she maintains multiple roles as a math teacher, 6-12 math department head and mentor teacher, and a 7th grade team leader. She also has experience as a consultant with Nashville Preparatory Charter School and Invictus Preparatory Charter School.
