Nishant Dolia
By disrupting old standards through leveraging technology and putting people first, I have led a number of successful projects at work. My core belief is in building winning teams via winning processes. I've worked extensively in the business development function in the consumer products industry with Procter & Gamble. Across my roles, I have led various projects which positively impact the top-line as well as the profitability of the company.
Though currently based in Madurai, I have lived across 5 different cities in the past 6 years. This exposure across cities has provided me with a unique skill set of collaborating with people from different backgrounds and cultures. I learn more by interacting with people and experiencing new challenges.
Budget back-packing is one of my passions. I dream of completing 30 backpacking trips by the time I’m 30, and have completed 23 so far with Spain being my most exciting. The challenge of experiencing a country within limited resources is something which excites me.
Playing tennis every weekend for the past 13 years and running half-marathons have taught me that there is nowhere else to turn but inward when trying to find my way through a challenging situation. I am a budding photographer and have a collection of my best photographs, which I wish to print and decorate my first home with. Photography has exposed me to the importance of noticing the details and appreciating the elements that may not be visible yet can be felt.
However, my most important and gratifying contribution I consider to be is my involvement in fighting the social participation restrictions towards Leprosy patients. I visit the National Leprosy Institute every quarter and I have led multiple initiatives such as Art workshops, “Adopt a grandparent” and Diwali celebrations at the institute to make them feel inclusive. Their joyous smiles make the effort invaluable. I also actively participate with the Shiksha school programme, a P&G CSR initiative that aims to educate the underprivileged.
My personal and professional experiences have thus moulded me to always choose: 1) Experiences over things 2) Teamwork over individual victory and 3) Perseverance over giving up.
