Nishant Ratnakar

I am an independent Documentary Photographer & Visual storyteller based in Bangalore, India. I spent my childhood with dreams of becoming a sailor someday, but eventually ended up doing what most Bangalore kids do - study engineering and work in an IT company. After nearly a year and half working at a blue chip company, and less noteworthy attempts of learning music, I found my true calling in photography.

I stepped out of the rat race and pursued photography on a self learning curve. Post that I worked as a photojournalist with numerous publications in India.

Currently, I work on my personal photography projects and take up freelance assignments in the genre of editorial, portrait, documentary and wedding photography.

What you see at the top is how I photograph Indian weddings from my perspective - a visual storyteller's perspective.
