For as long as she could remember Renita "Nita Lachelle" Fortson has been a passionate fan of beauty, fashion, and modeling. Her earliest introduction to fashion was at age 12 when she watched famous super model Naomi Campbell grace the high fashion Paris runways on television. From that day on Nita knew her creativity, gregarious personality, and eye for detail would mesh perfectly in the world of Fashion and Beauty. Her freelance work as a model also fueled her desire to become a wardrobe stylist and MUA.
After graduating from junior college, Nita lived in Japan briefly where she was in awe of Tokyo's advanced spin on fashion and beauty. From the daily avant-garde ensembles to 3 mile long "fashion warehouses" that housed some of the most prestigious designers such as: Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Louis Vuitton, and much more!
Her passion then led her to the International Academy of Design and Technology Chicago where she received her baccalaureate degree in Fashion Merchandising & Marketing. Her undergrad opened many doors in the fashion/retail industry where she worked for known retailers like Ann Taylor, White House Black Market, and The Limited.
Several years in retail helped Nita realize that her craving to express herself artistically was still unfulfilled. While working at Kiva Salon as a receptionist, the buzz and fast-paced atmosphere unveiled a love she always knew she had....beauty. She then went on to be formally trained at the Airbrush Academy in Airbrush Make-Up Artistry.
Currently Nita has launched her own lip cosmetic line "Nita Lachelle beauty" and plans to develop a "one stop" glam boutique where her line will be retailed. She holds herself to a standard of excellence and believes whole heartedly in her company's message......CONSCIOUS COSMETICS!
