Tristan Nitot

After spending 17 years with the Mozilla project, Tristan Nitot has joined Cozy Cloud, a French start-up which aims at building the personal Cloud, a platform that enable people to use the Cloud in a private way.

Before that, Tristan co-founded Mozilla Europe in 2003 and has been its president until it merged with subsidiaries of Mozilla Foundation in 2011. Under his tenure, Mozilla has reached almost half a billion instances in the world, 45% being in Europe, where Community participation is also the highest.

Now Tristan is Principal Mozilla Evangelist, a worldwide position, where he tirelessly puts Mozilla's mission and non profit nature in perspective with Mozilla technologies and initiatives, explaining how user sovereignty is key for the future society that is being built.

Tristan Nitot was with Netscape from 1997 to 2003, first in charge of Product marketing in Southern Europe and then in charge of developer relations in Europe. Tristan Nitot has also helped launching the OpenWeb.eu.org project in 2002, aiming at promoting Web standards and accessibility. Tristan publishes on the Web since 1996 and started blogging in 2002 on Standblog.org. He was nominated as one of the most influential persons in Technology in 2009 by T3.com and he has received the "Digital Society promoter" award in 2012.

Tristan is also a member of the CNNum (French Digital Coucil) and the foresigth committee of the CNIL (French data privacy regulatory body).
